Youngsters of State are getting training through Skill Development Mission
dehradun Chairperson of National Skill Development Corporation S. Ramadurai met the Chief Minister Shri Harish Rawat at Bijapur Guest House today. During the meeting Chief Minister announced that employment oriented training would be imparted to drop out children of the State after marking them for the purpose. Apart from this, trained youths would also be marked on the basis if they got employment or not. State Government would make request to Central Government to reform or mould Skill Development Scheme according to needs of hilly States to some extent. Chief Minster asked National Skill Development Corporation to deploy skilled master trainers in State so that youngsters might get better training. Chief Minister told that a plan was to be implemented during the tenure of UPA Government at Central level regarding opening regional training centres in the States. Central Government should set up these Regional Training Centres in the States. Like Mudra Scheme is being supported by banking sector positively, youths trained through Skill Development Mission should be provided loans for self employment initiatives, Chief Minister Shri Rawat suggested.
ITIs and Polytechnic colleges are being modernized by State Government with the participation of Industrial Houses. Students of ITIs and Polytechnics might be given training according to industrial requirements; Government is making serious efforts in this regard. Youngsters of State are getting training through Skill Development Mission. Now, Government is putting effort to give the training of industries based on local handicrafts. Hunar Scheme has been started by State Government. Besides this, MSME policy has also been formulated to provide employment oriented training to youths, Chief Minister expressed these views.
Chairperson of National Skill Development Corporation S. Ramadurai assured full cooperation of NSDC to State Government. He said that State has immense potential in Agro Forest, Medical Tourism, Tourism, Ayurvedic, Yoga, MSME sector as these might prove employment generating areas. Youths might be trained in these specific sectors. Central Government has started Prime Minister Skill Development Scheme; Uttarakhand should come forward to take benefit of the scheme. He asked State Government to send maximum proposals in this regard. Training programme according to Hilly Regions should be prepared; NSDC would help for the purpose. A team of NSDC would inspect the ITIs, Polytechnic and Vocational colleges in the State.
