Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat joined in a clean drive
Dehradun Uttarakhand Chief Minister Shri Harish Rawat joined in a clean drive cleaning choked drains with the help of spades and shovels at Darbhanga Colony Bhandari Baag on Sunday. The awareness campaign in the city being carried out by the State Police Department was the second effort initiated by Chief Minister of the State. Shri Rawat spent time there clearing choked drains and sprinkling them with kerosene. Terming stagnant water as the breeding ground of mosquitoes, he advised people to keep flushing water containers and tanks close to where they live on a regular basis. The Chief Minister asked them to ensure that drains around their houses do not get choked with indiscriminate dumping of waste and are sprinkled with kerosene on regular intervals. The Chief Minister said asking people not to get panicky about dengue but maintain cleanliness and hygiene around themselves.
Later, while interacting with media Chief Minister Shri Rawat stated that clean drive is true homage to Father of the Nation. Uttarakhand Government had decided to make State ODF by 9th November 2016 as 85 percent area has been covered already till date. He stressed on self motivation and collective efforts for the purpose.
