Uttarakhand Chief Minister Approval Letter Distribution Program for overall development
Dehradun Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat took part in Certificate/Approval Letter Distribution Program for overall development of minorities in the State and various related welfare schemes at CM House New Cant Road on Thursday. Congratulating the State Minority Commission for taking successful efforts in the interest of Minorities Chief Minister Shri Rawat also appreciated the effective implementation of schemes conducted under Minority Welfare Department of Uttarakhand Government.
Addressing the presence Chief Minister of the State stated that State of Uttarakhand is the first State across the nation to provide financial aid to construct protection walls around the cemeteries. Presently, Uttarakhand Government has taken the initiative at small scale but will be extended further. Shri Rawat said that recommendations by State Minority Commission concerning with Minority Development Fund are expected. It is expected by State Government that maximum people from minority communities might be benefited through schemes being conducted under Minority Development Fund. Chief Minister asked for latest review of presently implemented schemes for the development and welfare of minorities in the State. Shri Rawat suggested that various schemes might be consolidated if effective implementation of schemes is ensured and better results are seen. He expected to start Start-Ups under Minority Welfare Department as required fund and other infrastructural facilities would be managed by State Government. Chief Minister added that Sikh, Jain and Persian communities inherit entrepreneurship skills and business aptitude traditionally but our Muslim community is not much developed in this context on account of poverty and illiteracy. We need to promote entrepreneurship skills among Muslim community. Scholarship and encouragement efforts taken by State Government in context of minority welfare have been very successful. Chief Minister apprised that State Government is making serious efforts to open more and more technical institutes and entrepreneurship skills development centers. State Government will provide sufficient financial assistance for the purpose. Chief Minister Shri Rawat gave directions to Secretary Minority Welfare to find out the possibilities to link up the three major schemes related minority welfare like, scholarships, Maulana Azad and encouragement amount. Concerned Department must set target to decide that how many girls would be benefited every year. Under a major announcement Chief Minister declared that Lakhi Shah Banjara Scholarship scheme would be started along with constituting a fund of Rs 1 cr. Chief Minister took updated information regarding Madrasa Board and issued directions to move forward in a planned way in context of development of these Madrasas. Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand is financially depending on Central Government for the implementation of various schemes but we still have implemented many minority welfare schemes with our own resources and level. Under a major direction Chief Minister asked to prepare an effective roadmap for Hunar scheme under which high, medium and soft development training programs might be started. Chief Minister asserted that trainings are meant to show right path to candidates as we can develop skills and polish already present talent through training. Training programs should be conducted as mass campaigns. He asked to hire consultants for effective implementation and development of Hunar scheme. An analytical mapping including data related skills and aptitude and possibilities of skills development among local minority youths to be done. A consolidated plan to be prepared for five years in this regard. Under another major announcement Chief Minister Shri Rawat declared that a committee would be constituted presided over by himself to celebrate Minority Day successfully in the State along with arranging fund for the purpose. Uttarakhand Government will hold a constructive dialogue session with minority communities during the occasion.
