Dehradun: Governor Smt Baby Rani Maurya has participated in a program organized on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya at Malviya Auditorium, Rishikul Ayurveda Campus, Haridwar on Tuesday. While addressing the program, the Governor paid tribute to Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya and late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. She said that Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya ji was one of those great personalities, who have made invaluable contribution in the nation-building.
Governor said that Malviya ji had been known as an educationist, editor, social reformer, lawyer, great patriot and social reformer. She added that Malviya ji founded the Banaras Hindu University. Malviya ji said, “Patriotism is not a duty but a religion”. He said that through education, the physical and mental powers of the students should be developed. He believed that education had an important role in the all-round development of life. He also emphasized intellectual development as well as character formation. Malviya also paid special attention to cleanliness. Governor said that we can make the society decent and beautiful adopting the teachings of Mahamana Malviya.
Cabinet Minister Shri Madan Kaushik was also present on the occasion.
