dehradun According to major announcements made by Chief Minister of the State Harish Rawat on the Home Guard and Civil Defence Day at Tapovan Road Nanurkhera equal assistance amount would also be given to dependent of officers and employees of Home Guards who sacrificed their lives on duty from CM Fund. Per day duty allowance of Home Guards will be increased from Rs 350 to Rs 400, honorarium of non salaried commandant of Home Guards will be increased from Rs 900 to Rs 1500, honorarium of assistant company commandant will be increased from Rs 700 to Rs 1200 and honorarium of non-salaried platoon commandant will be increased from Rs 600 to Rs 1000 per month.
While appreciating the Ratik Parade organised during programme Chief Minister Shri Rawat declared to approve Rs 5 Lakh from the CM Fund to encourage the Home Guards and other workers concerning with first time organized Ratik Parade. Chief Minister approved Rs 1350 for the fourth class of Home Guards Department, Rs 1500 for BO, Constable Trainer, Ministerial Cadre and Drivers, Rs 1275 monthly for Salaried platoon commandant, inspector, district commandant, circle commandant along with similar nutritious meal allowance like police personnel, Rs 3000 for dress allowance for non gazetted officials of Home Guards Department and Rs 150 monitoring allowance similar to employees and management of Police Department. Chief Minister announced that dependents of non-salaried officials and home guards dead during the service period of Home Guards Department would be appointed on the post of non-salaried home guards directly. Training allowances of volunteers of Civil Defence will be increased from Rs 22 to Rs 100. Chief Minister instructed to draft a scheme for accidental insurance of volunteers and all the wardens of Civil Defence. Chief Minister Shri Rawat imparted that Civil Defence Units would be set up in district Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Almora, Chamoli and Rudraparyag. 25 percent women will be appointed in Home Guards soon. Chief Minister said that today’s parade assured us that our home guards and civil defence organization are fully prepared to face any sort of challenge. These organizations have played significant role during the Chardham, Disaster, and Elections like important occasions. These organizations created a capable and alert image.
Chief Minister Shri Rawat publicly dedicated the newly constructed building of Home Guard and Civil Defence Organization. He felicitated the officials and employees of Home Guards Department and distributed cheques to the dependents of martyr home guards.
