Dehradun .Former PCC President Kishore Upadhyay was detained at Vidhansabha Dehradun along with his supporters .At the opening day of Vidhansabha session in Dehradun Kishore along with his supporters tried to enter the assembly to raise the issue of Vanadhikar among Uttarakhand legislators, however the police detained him along with his supporters and prevented him from meeting the legislators.
Mangalore MLA Qazi Nizamudin termed the police action as unfortunate and said that since Kishore is a former MLA he has every right to enter the Vidhansabha premises and raise the issue which are beneficial for the people of state. Qazi termed the police action as dictatorial and demanded from Speaker that Kishore should be allowed to meet the legislators and put forward his demand of Vanadhikar.
The former PCC chief has started a movement of Vanadhikar to press for rights of Uttarakhand people on the natural resources of the state .The main demand of the proponent of Van adhikar are
1) 30th May should be declared as VanAdhikar Diwas.
2) All Uttarakhandis should be declared as Vanvasi
3) Under FRA 2006 all forest rights should be given immediately to respective gram sabha.
4)Green Bonus should be given to Uttarakhand immediately.
5)Women in hill state should be given cooking fuel free of cost.
