dehradun Additional Secretary Disaster Management C. Ravishanker informed that considering the heavy rain and land sliding in Districts Pithoragarh and Chamoli Disaster Management Department is on alert. NDRF, SDRF, SSB, ITBP and Search and Rescue teams have been sent off on the spots. Districts Magistrates have been given directions to give information regarding any incidents occurring in their concerned Districts to Disaster Management Department on immediate basis. Food grains have been arranged in affected regions. Closed roads are being opened with immediate response. People residing on rivers’ banks are being sent at safer zones.

Ravishanker also apprised that Metrology Department also expressed possibility of heavy rain in Districts Dehradun, Haridwar, Udhamsingh Nagar, Tehri, Nainital and Pauri . There is possibility of flowing of debris and water in plain areas of Districts Haridwar, Udhamsingh Nagar, Dehradun, Pauri and Nainital. Concerned District Magistrates will issue public information in this regard to the families/ citizens living in these areas. All the citizens should be make aware and constant monitoring to be ensured on the rain and water logging status. People should be replaced from the marked hyper sensitive zones. Rescue and relief teams should be prepared to response to the incidents on account of possible hefty rain. Commutating should be stopped in the sensitive places. Directions should be issued to close the schools where required.
