Chief Minister of the State Shri Harish Rawat attended the Dainik Jagran Conclave going on at Taj Palace in New Delhi. While answering the question asked by panel Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand has progressed a lot during last 15 years since its foundation according to aim with which it was founded. We are working with positive and planned approach to develop the Uttarakhand. Chief Minister stated that Uttarakhand has performed better than other states on the parameters measuring the growth rate of State like per capita income, infrastructure development etc. Uttarakhand State is one of the fastest growing states presently. Average per capita income of the Uttarakhand grew rapidly after State Foundation, but there is a lot to be done to resolve the problems of people living in remotest areas of State yet.  We are making efforts to take the Uttarakhand towards the direction of a balanced inclusive growth. Chief Minister imparted that Uttarakhand is better than other small states in skill development, technical education and medical education sectors. 6 medical colleges, 8 nursing colleges and 19 new polytechnic colleges have been opened in Uttarakhand.

While answering another question Chief Minister told that Uttarakhand has 70 percent forest cover of total land area so it has few income sources. As a result migration accelerated speedily due to less employment opportunities. Chief Minister questioned that who was going to secure Himaliyan borders aligned with State if remotest hilly regions would be empty due to migration. Hence,  State Government is developing employment and livelihood opportunities to curb the migration.  So State should get green bonus from Central Government as Nation should have responsibility of socio economic security of Himaliyan region.
