Ardhkumbh Haridwar from January to April 2016
dehradun Chief Minister of the State Shri Harish Rawat requested Union Minister for Finance Shri Arun Jaitley to release lump sum Rs 500 Cr. aid for Ardhkumbh going to be organised at Haridwar coming year through a letter. While mentioning the significance of Ardhkumbh Haridwar from January to April 2016 Chief Minister Shri Rawat told that 7 to 8 Cr devotees might visit the Ardhkumbh possibly. Kumbh and Ardhkumbh of Haridwar and Allahabad have more importance than other places on account of Ganga and Triveni. State Government is committed to organise a secure and comfortable Ardhkumbh. This time, State Government is focusing on the development of infrastructure of permanent natured. A plan of Rs 500 Cr. has been prepared for Ardhkumbh. Rs 400 Cr. for permanent natured works and Rs 100 Cr. have been reserved for semi-permanent natured and temporary public facilities and services. Such a huge amount transfer would put burden on the State budget due to limited resources available to State Government, still considering the importance and sensitivity of Ardhkumbh State Government has approved around Rs 350 Cr. for various schemes. Many of them going to be completed soon. Chief Minister asserted that central government had been requested many times in this context; even NITI Ayoga also recommended giving Rs 166 Cr. 67 Lakhs for Ardhkumbh to Uttarakhand but amount has not been released still. Considering the importance of Ardhkumbh Rs 500 Cr. must be released by Union Government so that all the necessary construction works and preparations might be completed before time.
