dehradun Free of cost land will be provided to the institutes which are going to establish schools of disabled children in the State. 5 percent houses will be reserved for handicapped under Atal Awas Yozna. Some percentage of fund allocated by Municipalities in urban area will be reserved for women and disabled. Disabled will be preferred in Auto Rickshaw and E-Rickshaw scheme. While inaugurating the Multipurpose Welfare Camp on theInternational Day of Persons with Disabilities at Community Health Centre in Prem Nagar Chief Minster Harish Rawat announced above major initiatives of government and called for a firm determination to destroy the root causes of disability and make handicapped persons entirely self depended. Chief Minister instructed the present officials to organise state level fair where disabled skilled in various trades along with employer and placement agencies might participate. Recruiters can offer jobs according to skills of handicapped there.
Chief Minister told that due to lack of knowledge and information children become physically weak from the birth. Some years after birth are very crucial considering the development of physical structure. State Government has started many programmes for the health care of mother and child. Weight of mal-nourished children is measured on 5th of every month at Aganbari Centres. Officials of Social Welfare, Health and other concerned Departments present during the weight examination. Chief Minister Shri Rawat invited the elite people of society to take care of at least one Aganbari so that State Government might easily achieve the target of child welfare along with qualitative changes would be observed soon. Chief Minister asked to ensure people’s participation in these multipurpose camps and set up them at block level.
Chief Minister Shri Rawat informed that reduction was being observed in MMR and IMR on account of State Government’s schemes to provide 2 Kg Mandua, 1Kg iodinated salt and 1 Kg black bhatt to pregnant women.only an empowered woman can make a empowered India and empowered society. We have started various schemes for birth, education, marriage, pregnancy, old aged including every state for girls to help them. Many schemes are being implemented for the welfare of disabled. Disabled pension, Teelu Rauteli pension, monetary aid for marriage of handicapped, dwarf pension, allowance for handicapped children, free of cost travelling in UTC buses, disabled scholarship are major schemes of State Government. CM asked to ensure the assistance of big industries in Artificial Organ Distribution. Chief Minister Shri Rawat felicitated the skilled disabled employees, disabled players, self employed handicapped, forefront recruiters and placement agencies which provided jobs to disabled. Chief Minister distributed tools to disabled on the occasion. Chief Minister observed the camp and took detailed information of process.
Cabinet Minister Surender Singh Negi asked to link the disabled with employment to make them part of mainstream of society. We need to boost up their moral. Health Department is making disability certificates on the spot and Social Welfare Department is approving disabled pension during the multipurpose camp.
